Installing Claude on Your Phone
Claude on your phone isn't a stripped-down version. It's the full product plus three things only possible on mobile: voice input, photo analysis, and share-sheet integration from any other app.
Installing on iPhone or iPad
- Open the App Store.
- Search Claude by Anthropic.
- Confirm the developer is Anthropic (watch for look-alikes).
- Tap Get, confirm with Face ID.
- Open Claude and sign in with the email on your account.
Past conversations appear immediately. It's one account across every device — no duplicate history, no export-import.
Installing on Android
- Open the Google Play Store.
- Search Claude by Anthropic.
- Confirm the developer is Anthropic.
- Tap Install, then Open.
- Sign in with the same email as your desktop or web account.
One Account, Every Device
You can be signed in on work laptop, personal phone, tablet, and a browser at the same time. Conversations and Projects stay in sync automatically. No export, no transfer.
Mobile-Only Features Worth Knowing
Voice input
Tap the microphone and talk. Claude transcribes and responds.
Example: You finish a site walk or a customer visit and dictate punch-list items into Claude. By the time you're back at the truck, Claude has a clean list ready to paste into email.
Photo upload and analysis
Tap the camera or photo icon to attach an image. Claude reads it.
Example: A confusing clause in a printed contract. Photograph it, ask "What does this mean in plain English?" and get a readable explanation.
Share sheet
In any app — email, browser, PDF viewer, Messages — tap Share and choose Claude. Whatever you were looking at goes straight into a new conversation.
Example: A client emails a PDF inspection report. In the mail app, tap Share → Claude → "What are the three most urgent items?" You get an answer without copy-paste.
Notifications
Claude notifications are off by default. Turn them on only if you use background tasks and want a ping when one completes. Most users leave them off.
Try This Now (2 min)
- Install the app and sign in.
- Tap the microphone and dictate a rough, rambling summary of your day so far.
- Ask: "Pull three action items and three things worth remembering out of this."
That workflow becomes muscle memory within a week.
